Videos on MCTV Ch. 6

MCTV Productions

MCTV produces over 300 programs a year with its own staff. Primarily these are meetings of various public agencies, but we also produce individual programs on a wide variety of topics. Over the years volunteers have taped programs on Coastside rodeos, events like the Pumpkin Festival and the Fourth of July Parade, local interest shows such as those about Montara Mountain, the history of El Granada, and the traditional Portuguese Holy Ghost Festival. Currently MCTV’s staff and volunteers are editing a program highlighting the spectacular surfing from the 2008 Mavericks Surf Contest.

MCTV Cablecasts the Work of Independent Producers

MCTV encourages independent producers on the Coast to submit their videos about the Coast (preferably 1 hour or less). Programs from independent producers and community access stations from around the country that are of interest to the Coastside community are also accepted.

If you have a program you would like to submit to MCTV, send it to MCTV at P. O. Box 1750, El Granada, CA 94018. Telephone: 650-726-1750 Email: mctv@comcast.net

Prograns submitted to MCTV must be broadcast quality DVDs or DV tapes. The producer must document rights to all the audio and video content of the production. All programs are previewed in full before airing. MCTV does not return copies of submitted programs unless previously arranged. Due to our limited staff resources programs submitted will be previewed in order of their receipt and it may take several weeks before they can be scheduled for cablecasting. MCTV does not permit objectionable content on its channel including obscene, slanderous or libelous content. Political content in programs is carefully reviewed, and equal time policies may apply in certain circumstances. MCTV reserves the right to not accept public meeting programming produced independently.

Portuguese Language Programming on MCTV

Portuguese language programming has been a part of MCTV since the station first went on the air in 1985. TV Azores Portugal featured regular shows about the local Portuguese community and their native Azores. Today one of the original producers of TV Azores Portugal continues to do a weekly show, “Contacto”. Contacto is shown on Saturday night at 7 pm.

If you would like to volunteer to work on Contacto, or get involved in Portuguese language programming, contact MCTV at 650-726-1750.
