Mid-Coast Television – Channel 27

MCTV WILL CEASE PEG ACCESS OPERATIONS ON CHANNEL 27 ON SEPT. 12, 2011

As of midnight on September 11th of this year, MCTV will no longer be the Public Educational and Governmental Access Channel operator for the City of Half Moon Bay or the Coastside portion of the County of San Mateo. Operation of Channel 27 will be transferred to Pacifica Community Television.   As a result, MCTV will close its offices and stop programming on Channel 27. In addition, our current programming will no longer be available through webstreaming or video on demand on this website.

MCTV.COM WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE

MCTV will retain its website, and after we take a break from 26 years of continuous programming (MCTV produced over 320 programs a year on average) you can look on this website for more information about our future plans and projects.

TO CONTACT MCTV:
You can still reach MCTV by emailing us at mctv@comcast.net.

MCTV is suspending its webstreaming and video on demand services

Because MCTV will have to dismantle its video and Internet server equipment to vacate its offices, we will have to temporarily shut down our webstreaming and video on demand services after September 11, 2011. MCTV will consider new means of bringing favorite Coastside programs and new programs to you via the Internet, but we will have to suspend these services as we go through the changes required to shut down the PEG Access operations.

A FEW FINAL WORDS FROM CONNIE MALACH

As President and Station Manager, and on behalf of the MCTV Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers, I would like to thank the Coastside residents for your support and encouragement.

We have enjoyed bringing you coverage of local events, non-profit agencies, the message board, and even all those public agency meetings. Our coverage of the Maverick’s Contest, the Pumpkin Festival and Coastside children on the stage were some of our personal favorites. The 26 shows in the “Coastside Fishing” series were some of the programs requested most frequently by our viewers. So our final greeting to all our viewers and supporters over the past 26 years is:

SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH!

and thanks to Douglas Adams, too!

MCTV WILL REVAMP ITS OPERATIONS, WATCH FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS SITE

MCTV will shut down its operations and vacate its offices at 525 Obispo Road, El Granada, in September of 2011. However, MCTV is very proud of its record of 26 years of continuous programming for the Coastside and MCTV retains much of its library of programming from those years. After we complete the de-commissioning of our PEG Access operations, MCTV will consider other ways to bring video programming to the Coastside and the larger Internet community. Please watch for announcements about our future projects on this website.
